PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

Youth Empowerment Service was established in April 2014, aiming at providing an English-speaking programme that focuses on life skills training for young adults with special needs. In September 2017, another branch programme CONNECT was launched as a life and career planning programme for young adults with mild special needs aspiring to work in the open employment market. We name the original programme as YES Programme.

To address the needs of individuals with special needs upon leaving school, Youth Empowerment Service designs training and learning specific to the needs of bridging the transition of end of school life and going to the community. We aim to equip the young adults with practical life skills before they find long term options in the community. The types of training include: household life skills, vocational experience, functional academic learning, socio-communicative skills and community immersion experience. Each full-time trainee receives a variety of holistic training, and individual goals are discussed and developed with the family for person-centred planning.
